TV SMITH – BIOGRAPHY:
TV Smith was founder member, singer and songwriter for the Adverts, who formed in late 1976, and became one of the leading bands in the first wave of British punk rock. In early 1977, they performed regularly at the newly-opened Roxy Club in London, and gained cult success with the Stiff Records single "One Chord Wonders." Their next release, "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" became a hit record, leading to many radio and TV appearances and extensive media interest. A further single, “No Time To Be 21,” also entered the charts, and the band spent the rest of the year playing live, including major tours with The Damned and Iggy Pop. The album that followed in early 1978, "Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts," is still considered a genuine classic of the era and is often cited as one of the twenty best punk albums ever released.
The Adverts released one further album, “Cast Of Thousands,” before their split in 1979. Slammed by the critics at the time, the album was re-released recently on Fire Records to universal acclaim, and described by Mojo magazine as “the long lost punk album that rivals The Clash’s ‘London Calling’.”
Immediately after the break up, TV formed TV Smith's Explorers, who achieved a U.K. hit in 1980 with the single “Tomahawk Cruise” and released one album, “Last Words Of The Great Explorer” a year later. Lack of commercial success led to the band being dropped by their record label and their subsequent split. TV re-entered the live arena in 1986 with Cheap, before performing his first gigs as a solo artist in the early ’90’s. He has gone on to release a succession of critically-acclaimed albums, including “March Of The Giants” (1992), “Immortal Rich” (1995), “Generation Y” (1999), “Not A Bad Day” (2003), “Misinformation Overload” (2006), “In The Arms Of My Enemy” (2008), and “Coming In To Land” (2011). He has also been involved in a number of collaborations with other bands, most notably with German superstars Die Toten Hosen, who performed as TV’s backing band on the album “Useless.”
At the request of his fans, in 2013 TV released “The Acoustic Sessions,” an album of solo performances, recorded live in the studio with renowned producer Jon Caffery. Vive Le Rock magazine called it “an album that sits alongside the Angry Brigade output of Pete Townsend, Roger Waters and Lou Reed, but hits you with the wallop of bare knuckle punk.” Late 2014 saw the release of a new TV Smith album entitled “I Delete," his sixteenth as a solo artist, which has been acclaimed by critics and fans alike.
Fiercely independent and determinedly embodying the original spirit of punk rock, TV continues to tour the world, bringing his epic solo show to ever-increasing audiences. Remarkably, he plays his concerts without a setlist and every performance contains a different selection of songs chosen on the night. He plays more than 120 gigs a year and has performed all over Europe, as well as the USA, Japan, Australia, South America, Russia – and even Helgoland.
Not content with playing live, TV has also has written about his on-the-road experiences in five books of highly popular Tour Diaries, described by “Sandman” and “American Gods” author Neil Gaiman as, “hilarious, honest and incredibly true.” The fifth and final volume, “Book Of The Year,” contains a write-up of every one of the 130 gigs TV played in 2013. In Autumn of 2016, TV’s first ever book of lyrics will be published by Foruli Codex. Exquisitely designed by Cure designer Andy Vella, and entitled “The Alternative Top 50,” the book comprises fifty of what are arguably TV’s best lyrics. It will be available as a conventional paperback, as well as an exclusive collectors’ hardback edition which includes a 10’ vinyl single that TV has recorded with Henry Rollins.

Das kanadische Cold-Wave-Duo Traitrs, das mit seinen melancholischen Melodien und von Horror inspirierten Texten und Bildern die Tristesse des modernen Lebens widerspiegelt, hat sich als einer der am schnellsten aufsteigenden Stars des heutigen Goth- und Post-Punk etabliert. Ende 2015 in Toronto, Kanada, gegründet, fanden Sänger/Gitarrist Shawn Tucker und Synthesizer-Spieler Sean-Patrick Nolan durch ihre gemeinsame Vorliebe für New Wave, Hardcore und Punkrock, Arthouse-Horrorfilme und dunkle elektronische Musik zusammen.
Noch bevor sie ihre erste Live-Show spielten, veröffentlichten Traitrs 2016 ihre Debüt-LP „Rites and Ritual“. Mit dem von der Kritik gefeierten Nachfolgealbum „Butcher’s Coin“ aus dem Jahr 2018 erlangte das Duo dank Songs wie „Thin Flesh“, „The Lovely Wounded“ und „The Suffering of Spiders“ schnell Aufmerksamkeit. Vor der Pandemie etablierten sich Traitrs auf die altbewährte Weise mit unermüdlichem Touren und schillernden Live-Auftritten in 16 Ländern, darunter Showcases beim Wave Gothik Treffen, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week und Pop! Montreal. 2021 veröffentlichten Traitrs das herzzerreißende „Horses In The Abattoir“, ein weiteres von der Kritik gefeiertes Album, das zum Album des Monats von Sonic Seducer gekürt wurde und mehrere Jahresendlisten anführte.

Die wahren Luftgitarristen spielen um nichts Geringeres als den Weltfrieden, so steht es zumindest in den Statuten der Air Guitar World Championships. Oder um es mit den Worten Brian May zu sagen: „Mit einer Luftgitarre in der Hand kann man keine Waffe halten!“
Alle Teilnehmer bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft haben jeweils 60 Sekunden, um ein selbst gewähltes Kür-Stück und einen Pflichtsong darzubieten.
Eine Begleitband, real oder aus Luft, ist verboten, ein Luft-Roadie hingegen erlaubt. Bewertet wird das Ganze durch eine fünfköpfige Jury, gemäß der Richtlinien der German Air Guitar Federation nach folgenden Gesichtspunkten:
- Originalität der Leistung
- Ausdrucksfähigkeit hinsichtlich der musikalischen Botschaft
- Charisma
- technische Fähigkeiten
- künstlerischer Gesamteindruck oder Airness:

Das JANCEE PORNICK CASINO ist die Band um JANCEE WARNICK, deutsch-amerikanischer Gitarrist und Gelegenheitsverbrecher mit einem Faible für Rockabilly, Schmuddelfilme und Wodka. 1999 trifft dieser auf 2 russische Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge. Diese multi-nationale Bande wird seitdem nicht müde, hochdosiertes Adrenalin in eine musikalische Form zu giessen. Nach unglaublichen 3000 Konzerten in Europa und Russland und 7 produzierten Schallplatten, brachten sie 2015 ihr aktuelles Album PLANET GIRLS zustande.
Nach 3 Jahren Arbeit im hermetisch abgeriegelten Studio war Jancee's Freundin und Beraterin der erste Mensch, der die bis dahin geheimen Songs hören konnte. Ihre spontane Reaktion war: "Denkst Du eigentlich irgendwann auch mal an was Anderes als an Sex?" Jancee wusste daraufhin nicht viel zu sagen, ausser "Sex ist nicht alles, aber ohne Sex ist alles nichts."
Das PORNICK CASINO mixt einen unwiderstehlichen Molotow-Cocktail aus Surfmusik, Rockabilly und 60's Garage Punk, aufgefüllt mit russischer Seele, Adrenalin und Selbstironie. Jancee's furioses Gitarrenspiel kreuzt dabei die Virtuosität von BRIAN SETZER mit der Energie von ANGUS YOUNG und wird dabei angetrieben von Morosovs Bass-Balalaika und Chris' Drum-Feuerwerk mit der Stärke eines sibirischen Orkans.

Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy is a high energy, acoustic brass n grass 5-piece from Wichita, KS. The band, whose sound has been described as “…a stagecoach in overdrive”, has brought their eclectic blend of punk, bluegrass, and dixieland to packed bars, basements, and festivals across the US since their inception in the spring of 2007.
With a lineup of great musicians, the band’s live show is never the same twice. Brothers Jarrod and Zachary Starling provide acoustic guitar and drums/washboard, along with Brody Wellman on standup bass to round out the rhythm section. Garret Briggeman (Dewayne Bro.’s, The Deedles) adds 5-string and tenor banjo to the mix, while Reverend Aaron Morris (The Band That Saved The World, Fuzz Nasty, SUNU, Bastard Squad, Blackout Drunks) adds a taste of New Orleans on the trumpet. Tyler Grubb holds down double solo duties, playing both mandolin and trombone. This blend of influences and musicality ensure a unique and interesting show each night.

DICK YORK (UK), Singer, Songwriter & Gitarrist der Band Cryssis, Sta Prest, Dick York & The Originals + VOM RITCHIE (Die Toten Hosen, Cryssis)
Dick York hat eine Diskografie, die über 5 Jahrzehnte zurückreicht. Er beschreibt sich selbst als Singer/Songwriter, aber das könnte nicht weiter von der Wahrheit entfernt sein. Er ist wahrlich ein großer Entertainer.
Im Laufe der Jahre hat Dick an vielen Musikprojekten mitgewirkt, doch seine große Leidenschaft ist die Band Cryssis. Er gründete Cryssis mit seinem alten Freund Vom Ritchie (der auch bei Toten Hosen spielt).
Seine Live-Auftritte und Songs wurden in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und zuletzt in Argentinien von der Kritik sehr gelobt.
Dick ist ein vielbeschäftigter Mann und tourte bereits mit 'The Drop Kick Murphy's', 'Frank Turner', The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Wölli & Die Band des Jahres und Die Ärzte durch die Welt.
Dick beschreibt diese Tour als einen Einblick, wie die Songs entstanden sind .... nur ich und meine Akustikgitarre und die Geschichten hinter den Songs".

Die Cyanide Pills sind wahrscheinlich die tollste Band der Welt…. vier Alben, eine 10’’ Live Scheibe und 10 Singles nennen sie ihr eigen, die vierte Platte ist gerade erst im Februar 2022 erschienen, natürlich wieder auf Damaged Goods.
Denkt an The Boys, Buzzcocks, The Briefs, Ramones und ihr wisst worauf es hier hinausläuft.
Die weiße Lederjacke ist immer dabei, ebenso wie ihre bonbonfarbenen Sonnenbrillen. Diese coolen Typen spielen deine Lieblings Punkrocksongs, verpackt in Kaugummi und Zuckerwatte, mit einer sehr britisch schnoddrigen 1977er Punkattitüde, tief verwurzelt im Pubrock und Glam, und treiben das Songwriting zu totaler Perfektion. Sie singen über die gleichen sozialen Missstände in der Welt wie sie damals schon in den 1970ern herrschten. Und sie haben eine Menge Humor. Nichts ist ihnen zu ernst. Oder vielleicht ist es das doch?
Die Cyanide Pills gründeten sich nachdem sich ein paar Kumpels, die bereits in Bands in der Leeds Punkszene umtriebig waren, entschieden, ihre Ressourcen zu sammeln und die Band zu gründen, in der sie schon immer sein wollten. Das war Mitte 2008.
Damaged Goods Records London nahm die Band gleich unter ihre Fittiche und die Debut single ‘Break It Up’ wurde Anfang 2009 veröffentlicht. Ihr selftitled Debutalbum erblicke 2010 das Licht der Welt. Und der Rest ist Geschichte.
Seitdem touren die Cyanide Pills mehrmals im Jahr durch Europa, veröffentlichen eine Single und Platte nach der nächsten, und jeder neue Song ist so wunderbar perfekt geschrieben, es ist schwer die Band nicht zu lieben.
Sie nennen sich selbst eine Bande von nicht funktionierenden Außenseitern, die schweres Gepäck mit sich rum tragen und nicht vertrauenswürdige Loser sind. Aber sie machen einen großartigen Sound. Das ist das, was sie wirklich gut können!

Tiefzustapeln ist nicht Lord Bishops Art. Nach seinem Alter gefragt antwortet er gern „I am young enough to rock, but old enough to know how!” So wie sein äußeres Erscheinungsbild ist auch seine Performance auf der Bühne: groß, nahezu gewaltig, unnachahmlich, entschlossen und schlicht und ergreifend unvergesslich. Lord Bishop Rocks kombinieren Funk, Rock, Blues, Punk und einen Hauch von Reggae zu einem emotionsgeladenen Mix der tief getränkt in schwarzen Voodoo alle verhext. Die Musik beschreibt der Meister selbst als Hendrixian Motör Funk.
Lord Bishop kann auf eine über 3000 Termine umfassende Konzertkarriere in über 44 Ländern auf 4 Kontinenten zurückblicken, die ihm und seiner Band den Ruf des wohl extravagantesten Rock Trios im 21. Jahrhundert einbrachte. Sein Publikum wusste er dabei stets durch rohe Energie und sein markantes Wesen zu überzeugen. Die 1978 gegründeten und aus Belfast stammenden PROTEX werden oft in einem Atemzug mit OUTCASTS,
STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, RUDI und UNDERTONES genannt. Ihre Debüt-7“ „Don’t Ring Me Up“ erschien 1978 auf dem legendären Good Vibrations Records, drei weitere auf Polydor folgten, bevor die Luft raus war – noch vor Erscheinen des ersten Albums wurde die Band gedroppt und löste sich 1981 auf. 2010 erschien dieses unveröffentlichte Debüt endlich auf Sing Sing Records und die Ur-Mitglieder Aidan Murtagh und David McMaster entschlossen sich zur Neugründung von PROTEX.

Formed in Belfast in 1978, Protex were one of the pioneers of the Belfast Punk Movement. They were soon signed to the famous Good Vibrations label; their debut release receiving great reviews and enjoying widespread airplay on the UK’s national Radio 1 station. They quickly came to the attention of Rough Trade Records who released Don’t Ring Me Up to wide acclaim. This in turn led to the band signing for Polydor Records who released the singles I Can’t Cope, followed by I Can Only Dream.
The 1980s saw the band take to the road with the Boomtown Rats as well as embark on two extensive tours of their own thoughout the US and Canada.
An album was recorded with legendary producer Chas Chandler who’d worked with, among others, Hendrix, The Animals and Slade. However, the band weren’t happy with the result and after a final release, A Place in Your Heart, the band and label parted ways, Protex splitting soon after.
Fast Forward to 2010 when New York’s Sing Sing Records located the Polydor recordings and released ‘Strange Obsessions’ on vinyl, igniting renewed interest in the band.
Founders Aidan Murtagh and Dave McMaster reformed the band and shows followed in Ireland, Spain and Japan. 2014 saw Protex play shows in the UK including London’s famous 100 Club before being invited to play what were to become two of their most memorable shows to date at Hotel Vegas in Austin as part of the South By South West festival. More European dates followed but by the end of 2014 Dave felt he no longer wished to tour and sadly, left the band.
The current line-up played their first show in a sold out Grand Victory, New York in March 2015 at the beginning of a US tour that finished with four shows at SXSW in Austin. In 2016 Protex recorded and released the Tightrope album on Bachelor Records to great critical acclaim and by the end of the year they’d returned to the stage. 2017 has already seen the band tour Spain and the US, with Italy, Portugal, Germany and Ireland still to come as well as an appearance at the Rebellion festival in the UK.

Keine Frage, die Heavy Teddys sind Kult. Gegründet “irgendwann Anfang der 90er”, sorgten die Kölner mit ihrem “Drei-Ton-Hacke-Hacke” und geradlinigen deutschen Texten über die zentralen Themen im Leben schnell für Furore in der deutschen Szene.
Seit einer mehr oder weniger spontanen Reunion 2010 sind sie wieder da und – mit wenigen Ausnahmen – ganz die Alten.

POWERSOLO ist eine Rock’n’Roll-Band, die 1996 in Aarhus, Dänemark, von Sänger/Gitarrist Kim „Kix“ Jeppesen gegründet wurde. POWERSOLO ist eine aktive Gruppe, die international und ausgiebig durch Europa und die USA tourt und ständig Platten aufnimmt sowie in mehreren Soundtracks für Fernsehen und Film mitwirkt, darunter das dänisch-kanadische Krimidrama Himmerland und die amerikanischen Fernsehserien True Blood und American Horror Story.
Ihr Sound, der von der Band als „Donkey Punk“ bezeichnet wird, zeichnet sich durch eine oft hektische und raue Mischung aus Garage, Punk, Psychobilly, Surf und Weltmusik aus. Dieses Patois lehnt sich stark an einen Blues-basierten Rock-Sound an, der oft mit etwas aufgenommen wird, was man als utilitaristische, obskure oder primitive Technik bezeichnen könnte. Dies verleiht ihren Aufnahmen eine sehr authentisch klingende Vintage-Ästhetik.
Die Live-Shows von POWERSOLO lassen selbst die erfahrensten Konzertbesucher oft verwirrt zurück, werden aber immer von ihren skurrilen und albernen, aber bedrohlichen Bühnenpossen unterhalten – wenn nicht von der einfachen rohen Kraft, die diese Gruppe bei jeder Aufführung dem Publikum liefert.
POWERSOLO vereint eine unverwechselbar weit verbreitete Mischung aus Garage, Punk, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Surf, Psychedelic, Acid Rock, Blues, Weltmusik, Country und Hard Rock. Es ist keine Band, die in eine Schublade gesteckt werden kann. Deren Einflüsse springen auf jeder Platte hin und her und zeigen die Vielseitigkeit der Gruppe, während sie all ihren Kompositionen immer noch einen Retro-Rock-Vibe verleihen. Dies wird akustisch durch einen oft analog-getriebenen oder Lofi-Ansatz bei der Aufnahme zusammengehalten. Man könnte sagen, dass der Sound von POWERSOLO etwas abgespeckter, aber niemals minimalistischer Rock’n’Roll ist.
