PHANTOM VISION is an alternative band from Lisbon formed by Pedro Morcego and with current members Tiago Barbosa, Pedro Barradas, Carlão and Ágata Tavares.
Phantom Vision's beginnings date back to 1996, when Art of Dark was formed (Pedro Morcego on vocals and bass, Fernando Ramalho on guitar, Diogo Duarte on guitar and Paulo Sérgio on drums).
The band practiced Darkwave/Rock and although it was short-lived, it was in fact the great driving genesis and of indisputable importance, since it was there that the wills were drawn and essential concepts for the future were refined.
This project resulted in a demo tape (never released) called Art of Dark.
In 1999 Paulo Sérgio, Fernando Ramalho and Diogo Duarte left the band. The project changes its name to Electric Wet Dreams and continues with a more eccentric and Avangarde approach.
The drums are replaced by a drum machine and keyboards and synthesizers are introduced into the
sound, which becomes a kind of fusion between Punk Rock, Electronica and Gothic Rock, something innovative for what was being done at the time, especially in Portugal.
The band was formed by Pedro Morcego on vocals and synths with David Reis on guitar (started onkeyboards), Pierre Dumond on keyboards and Nuno Soares on bass.
At that time, Electric Wet Dreams began to assert themselves in the Goth/Darkwave scene in Portugal and their concerts, always somewhat extravagant and unique, began to attract more and
more followers.
In 2000, Electric Wet Dreams participated in the Hall of Dreams festival in Porto where Trevor Bradford, from Nightbreed Records, saw the band perform and invited them to sign with his label.
There is also a Demo Tape from this project.
In 2001, the band definitively changed its name to Phantom Vision, released its debut album, Nocturnal Frequencies, on Nightbreed Records (UK) and began to establish itself in Europe.
At this time, at the Coliseu do Porto, the band is prohibited from playing as a support band, by the Sisters of Mercy, because they are dressed in black.
Nuno Soares leaves the band and the bass is taken over by Pedro Morcego.
In 2002 the band signed a contract for three long-term albums with the North American company Cop International.
This contract resulted in the albums Traces of Solitude (2003), Calling the Fiends (2004) and Instinct (2005).
During this period the band played intensely in Portugal and Europe.
In 2003 the series NCIS – Criminal Investigation, from Paramount Pictures chooses a theme from the band, The darkest skies, to appear in an episode.
In 2004 André Joaquim replaced David Reis on guitar and in 2009 Tiago Barbosa replaced Pierre Dumond on keyboards.
In 2014 the band signed a new contract for three long-term albums with Cop International.
This contract has already resulted in the albums Ghosts (2015) and Gulty (2019).
In 2015 the band decided to introduce drums into their set and Carlão took his place.
In 2017 Pedro Barradas replaced André Joaquim on guitar.
Between November 8th and December 20th, 2023, the band participated in Till Lindemann's European Tour (the Rammstein singer's solo project) as a support band, at his invitation, together with Aesthetic Perfection

Seit 2011 spielt sich die Kultband Mängelexemplar durch den internationalen Musikkosmos des Elektro-Undergrounds. Das Düsseldorfer Synth-Duo bringt heftige Synthies mit unausweichlichen Melodien, geprägt durch analoge Klänge, kühle Synthie Sounds inspiriert vom New Wave der frühen 80er.
Schön elektronisch, puristisch und tanzbar, dann wieder sphärisch, aber auch brachial. Nostalgisch futuristisch sind die Klanglandschaften mit repetitiven Minimal-Wave-Strukturen.
Textlich bleiben die Düsseldorfer nicht im Gestern verharrt, sondern transportieren auf charmante Weise die Düsseldorfer Musikkultur für elektronische Musik in ein neues Zeitalter, mit frischen, catchy Songs wie es auch in den 80s en vogue war.

“Zuerst gab es Howlin’ Wolf, dann Jimi Hendrix, jetzt hat die Welt Lord Bishop!” sagte Mother Tongue-Basser Davo einst nach einer gemeinsamen Show über den schwarzen Zwei-Meter-Hünen aus der Bronx in New York City, in dessen Adern purer Rock’n’Roll fließt.
Tiefzustapeln ist nicht Lord Bishops Art. Nach seinem Alter gefragt antwortet er gern „I am young enough to rock, but old enough to know how!” So wie sein äußeres Erscheinungsbild ist auch seine Performance auf der Bühne: groß, nahezu gewaltig, unnachahmlich, entschlossen und schlicht und ergreifend unvergesslich. Pointed Sticks, aus Vancouver, Kanada sind ein unmittelbarer Hitgarant für Popmusik Punks und Modefans in
der ganzen Welt. Nachdem sie letztes Jahr ausverkaufte Shows in Japan, Kanada und den USA spielten,
kommt die Band, die immer noch mit allen Originalmitgliedern von damals tourt, mit ihrer hoch ansteckenden
Raw Power Pop Tour nach Europa. Ein Event, bei dem ihr euch warm anziehen solltet.
Die Band feierte bereits ihr 40jähriges Jubiläum und hat alle Hits im Gepäck, Out Of Luck, Real Thing, What Do You Want Me To Do, Lies, Somebody’s Mom, Marching Song, Part Of The Noise und viele andere mehr! Pointed Sticks seit 1978. Always fun. Always will be fun!
Im Sommer 1978 als Idee zweier Freunde aus der Grundschule, Nick Jones (Gesang) und Bill Napier-Hemy (Gitarre) geboren, beriefen sie Tony Bardach (Bass) und seinen Bandkollegen Ian Tiles (Drums) aus der Vancouver Szene ein und bald darauf stieß auch Gord Nicholl (Keyboards) zur Band. Der Rest ist Geschichte.
Damals 1979 waren The Pointed Sticks bei Stiff Records unter Vertrag. Jetzt werden sie von Northern Electric repräsentiert.
Ihre letzten Veröffentlichungen sind die Albem „Three Lefts Make A Right“ (2009) und „Pointed Sticks“ (2015).

Original Belfast Punk Rock
Die 1978 gegründeten und aus Belfast stammenden PROTEX werden oft in einem Atemzug mit OUTCASTS,
STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, RUDI und UNDERTONES genannt. Ihre Debüt-7“ „Don’t Ring Me Up“ erschien 1978 auf dem legendären Good Vibrations Records, drei weitere auf Polydor folgten, bevor die Luft raus war – noch vor Erscheinen des ersten Albums wurde die Band gedroppt und löste sich 1981 auf. 2010 erschien dieses unveröffentlichte Debüt endlich auf Sing Sing Records und die Ur-Mitglieder Aidan Murtagh und David McMaster entschlossen sich zur Neugründung von PROTEX.

Formed in Belfast in 1978, Protex were one of the pioneers of the Belfast Punk Movement. They were soon signed to the famous Good Vibrations label; their debut release receiving great reviews and enjoying widespread airplay on the UK’s national Radio 1 station. They quickly came to the attention of Rough Trade Records who released Don’t Ring Me Up to wide acclaim. This in turn led to the band signing for Polydor Records who released the singles I Can’t Cope, followed by I Can Only Dream.
The 1980s saw the band take to the road with the Boomtown Rats as well as embark on two extensive tours of their own thoughout the US and Canada.
An album was recorded with legendary producer Chas Chandler who’d worked with, among others, Hendrix, The Animals and Slade. However, the band weren’t happy with the result and after a final release, A Place in Your Heart, the band and label parted ways, Protex splitting soon after.
Fast Forward to 2010 when New York’s Sing Sing Records located the Polydor recordings and released ‘Strange Obsessions’ on vinyl, igniting renewed interest in the band.
Founders Aidan Murtagh and Dave McMaster reformed the band and shows followed in Ireland, Spain and Japan. 2014 saw Protex play shows in the UK including London’s famous 100 Club before being invited to play what were to become two of their most memorable shows to date at Hotel Vegas in Austin as part of the South By South West festival. More European dates followed but by the end of 2014 Dave felt he no longer wished to tour and sadly, left the band.
The current line-up played their first show in a sold out Grand Victory, New York in March 2015 at the beginning of a US tour that finished with four shows at SXSW in Austin. In 2016 Protex recorded and released the Tightrope album on Bachelor Records to great critical acclaim and by the end of the year they’d returned to the stage. 2017 has already seen the band tour Spain and the US, with Italy, Portugal, Germany and Ireland still to come as well as an appearance at the Rebellion festival in the UK.

Wenn Musik Nahrung für die Seele ist, dann sind The BellRays Thanksgiving und sie wissen, wie man kocht.
The BellRays reduzieren ihre Musik auf das Wesentliche. „Wir hören zu, wo unser Herz wohnt, und schreiben einfache Songs, damit wir uns und hoffentlich alle, die sie hören, gut fühlen“, erklärt Sängerin Lisa Kekaula.
Blues ist der Lehrer. Punk ist der Prediger. Es geht um Emotionen und Energie. Erfahrung und rohes Talent, Geist und Intellekt.
Wenn diese D inge aufeinandertreffen, passieren aufregende Dinge. Bob Vennum und Lisa Kekaula haben The BellRays 1990 in Riverside,
Kalifornien, ins Leben gerufen, aber damals dachten sie noch nicht wirklich darüber nach. Sie wollten Musik spielen und sie wollten, dass sie sich gut anfühlt. Sie wollten, dass die Leute aufstehen WOLLEN, aufstehen MÜSSEN und nachsehen, was los ist.
Sich eine Meinung bilden. Reagieren.
Also nahmen sie alles, was sie kannten: die Beatles, Stevie Wonder, The Who, die Ramones, Billie Holiday, Lou Rawls, Hank Williams, The DB’s, Jimmy Reed und Led Zeppelin (um nur einige zu nennen, für die „BLUES DER LEHRER IST“) und machten es sich zunutze. Diese Bands und Künstler sind seit dem zu „Schlagwörtern“ geworden, zu Dingen, die man nachahmt und nach denen man klingt.
Das war nie die Absicht von The BellRays. Den BellRays ging es nie darum, einen „Sound“ zu erfinden oder sich in eine Szene
einzufügen. Es ging um die Energie, die all diese Musik so unwiderstehlich machte. Die Einflüsse der BellRays wurden vom Blues gelernt und dann lernten sie, ihn sich zu eigen zu
machen. Die Beatles wollten R&B spielen, wandelten
diese Energie um und erfanden „Rubber Soul“. Die Ramones versuchten, Del Shannon oder Neil Sedaka zu sein, und heraus
kam „Rocket to Russia“. Es ist eine organische Spur, die durch Bob und Lisa und die aktuelle Rhythmusgruppe von Pablo Rodas (Lisa and the Lips,
Alber Solo) am Bass und Craig Waters (Countdowns, Andre Williams, Cody Chestnut) am Schlagzeug fließt und ehrlich und dringlich daherkommt. Sie werden lernen und Sie werden fühlen. Blues lehrt immer und Punk predigt immer.
The BellRays werden häufig verglichen mit einem Mix wie „The Stooges treffen Aretha Franklin“, „Tina Turner und die MC5“, „James Brown wird von The Who in die Eier getreten“.
Ihr neues und damit 15.Album „Heavy steady go“ erscheint am 30.August 2024.

Keine Frage, die Heavy Teddys sind Kult. Gegründet “irgendwann Anfang der 90er”, sorgten die Kölner mit ihrem “Drei-Ton-Hacke-Hacke” und geradlinigen deutschen Texten über die zentralen Themen im Leben schnell für Furore in der deutschen Szene.
Seit einer mehr oder weniger spontanen Reunion 2010 sind sie wieder da und – mit wenigen Ausnahmen – ganz die Alten.

Post-Punk Duo aus Toronto in Kanada, welches im Jahre 2015 gegründet wurde. Mit diesen Worten beschreiben die beiden langjährigen Freunde Sean-Patrick Nolan und Shawn Tucker ihr musikalisches Projekt.
Das kanadische Cold-Wave-Duo TRAITRS, das mit seinen melancholischen Melodien und von Horror inspirierten Texten und Bildern die Tristesse des modernen Lebens widerspiegelt, hat sich als einer der am schnellsten aufsteigenden Stars des heutigen Goth- und Post-Punk etabliert. Ende 2015 in Toronto, Kanada, gegründet, fanden Sänger/Gitarrist Shawn Tucker und Synthesizer-Spieler Sean-Patrick Nolan durch ihre gemeinsame Vorliebe für New Wave, Hardcore und Punkrock, Arthouse-Horrorfilme und dunkle elektronische Musik zusammen.
Noch bevor sie ihre erste Live-Show spielten, veröffentlichten Traitrs 2016 ihre Debüt-LP „Rites and Ritual“. Mit dem von der Kritik gefeierten Nachfolgealbum „Butcher’s Coin“ aus dem Jahr 2018 erlangte das Duo dank Songs wie „Thin Flesh“, „The Lovely Wounded“ und „The Suffering of Spiders“ schnell Aufmerksamkeit. Vor der Pandemie etablierten sich Traitrs auf die altbewährte Weise mit unermüdlichem Touren und schillernden Live-Auftritten in 16 Ländern, darunter Showcases beim Wave Gothik Treffen, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week und Pop! Montreal. 2021 veröffentlichten Traitrs das herzzerreißende „Horses In The Abattoir“, ein weiteres von der Kritik gefeiertes Album, das zum Album des Monats von Sonic Seducer gekürt wurde und mehrere Jahresendlisten anführte.

POWERSOLO ist eine Rock’n’Roll-Band, die 1996 in Aarhus, Dänemark, von Sänger/Gitarrist Kim „Kix“ Jeppesen gegründet wurde. POWERSOLO ist eine aktive Gruppe, die international und ausgiebig durch Europa und die USA tourt und ständig Platten aufnimmt sowie in mehreren Soundtracks für Fernsehen und Film mitwirkt, darunter das dänisch-kanadische Krimidrama Himmerland und die amerikanischen Fernsehserien True Blood und American Horror Story.
Ihr Sound, der von der Band als „Donkey Punk“ bezeichnet wird, zeichnet sich durch eine oft hektische und raue Mischung aus Garage, Punk, Psychobilly, Surf und Weltmusik aus. Dieses Patois lehnt sich stark an einen Blues-basierten Rock-Sound an, der oft mit etwas aufgenommen wird, was man als utilitaristische, obskure oder primitive Technik bezeichnen könnte. Dies verleiht ihren Aufnahmen eine sehr authentisch klingende Vintage-Ästhetik.
Die Live-Shows von POWERSOLO lassen selbst die erfahrensten Konzertbesucher oft verwirrt zurück, werden aber immer von ihren skurrilen und albernen, aber bedrohlichen Bühnenpossen unterhalten – wenn nicht von der einfachen rohen Kraft, die diese Gruppe bei jeder Aufführung dem Publikum liefert.
POWERSOLO vereint eine unverwechselbar weit verbreitete Mischung aus Garage, Punk, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Surf, Psychedelic, Acid Rock, Blues, Weltmusik, Country und Hard Rock. Es ist keine Band, die in eine Schublade gesteckt werden kann. Deren Einflüsse springen auf jeder Platte hin und her und zeigen die Vielseitigkeit der Gruppe, während sie all ihren Kompositionen immer noch einen Retro-Rock-Vibe verleihen. Dies wird akustisch durch einen oft analog-getriebenen oder Lofi-Ansatz bei der Aufnahme zusammengehalten. Man könnte sagen, dass der Sound von POWERSOLO etwas abgespeckter, aber niemals minimalistischer Rock’n’Roll ist.

Gegründet 1995 im Ruhrgebiet als alle anderen neuen Psycho-Bands um die Wette klapperten. Mit einem herausragenden Sänger, einem der besten Kontrabassisten der Szene, einer klaren und superb gespielten Leadgitarre und einem feinfühligen (neuen) Schlagzeuger spielen PITMEN sogenannten Old School Psychobilly der Extraklasse. Bei Auftritten in Russland wurden sie als Melodic-, in der Ukraine sogar “Romantic” Psychobilly betitelt. Ihr Repertoire beinhaltet all ihre Knaller wie das fröhliche „Christina Applegate“, die aggressiven „Through With You“ und „Just Fakes“ und natürlich das Trinklied „Schlucker Billy“.
